What am I to do
I'm starting this blog to help me cope with borderline personality disorder. My wife has been dealing with it for close to 7 years. I intend to use the blog as a place to vent or even ask for advice, it's just getting hard for me to deal with this on my own. Thanks.

Good luck. It's not easy helping a loved one with a problem like BPD, but you can make it.
You need support, we're here. BPD can be really hard to deal with sometimes. If you need a break or someone to talk to, come on over and say hi.
*Please* look for another diagnosis. I had picked that one for myself after lots of desperate reading, when a very sensitive and considerate friend of mine (in the mental health profession) expressed horror at my conclusion. I didn't get what he was saying then, but I do now:
Borderline is a pejorative.
I didn't start to get anywhere until I found people who would help me from a perspective of respect and validation. Maybe read up on PTSD? Many times we have the choice of describing someone with something like: "Look how manipulative this person is: that's what they're about and it's a pain to deal with" vs something like "they are responding to some sort of genuine pain, and I just can't see what it is. we will keep looking because I love and value this person."
I don't know that your wife has ptsd, but much of what someone goes through as a result of trying to cope with the unending emotional replay of old trauma that can look very much (on the outside) like the list of descriptions for borderline. If you care to look into it, there's a great book called "trauma and recovery" - I believe the author is Judith Herman MD.
